I want another ZS!

Hiya all

Long time no post

I has a ZS 180 a year ago and Nick1970 bought it from me and then a ZS 120

At the time we couldnt afford to run it as my partner didnt go back to work after her Maternity and was very ill

I have had quite a few different cars in the mean time and I really do miss everything about the ZS180

Just an idea of what I had...

Ford Escort 1.8 GTi (needed a 5 door so this went)

VW Golf 1.4 MK4 (Not enough power)

Range Rover 3.9 Classic (Gearbox went)

Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 Auto (Found a cheap Impreza!)

Subaru Impreza AWD Sport

I am looking to change the Scooby for a ZS180 or even a ZT160 now

If I do I am very particular to what I want... needs to be Trophy Blue saloon

I also would like the belts to have been done and under 100k miles

I have seen a few online within my budget but I would like to keep it in the family so would prefer to deal with a fellow member!

My budget is going to be below ?1000 (depending on the sale of the Scooby)

If I cant get what I want then I am in no rush and can wait til funds are available

Cheers and good to be back here!

Ouch! Sounds nasty!

Plenty of zeds about, a case of filtering out the rough ones and finding a good one.

Appreciate the POV, but I tend to work on the philosophy that being as I can sort out most electrical & mechanical issues, as long as the bodywork is OK (or can be solved with easily matched bolt-ons - e.g. bumpers and wings), then I'd rather spend as little as poss.
I've bought 4 non-runners in the last year and 3 of them have turned out to be really decent. The 4th is still WIP.
OK so it requires a bit of work, which may mean stress and/or a few skinned knuckles, but it's like buying a car on HP, and spreading the cost can make it a lot more affordable.
It's also very satisfying when you nail a problem, and you get to know your car better while working on it, as well as developing your skills and perhaps expanding your toolbox.

I agree with you and have done this with many cars I have owned... but now I am looking for a complete car that I dont have to mess around with straight after buying!
