Think you aught to re-title the thread.

Luckiest Day Ever.

Sorry to hear, but could have been so worse.

Bent wing and wheel studs can all be sorted, main thing you all walked away unhurt and sounds like no one else involved.

Have to let us know what caused the problem.

Thanks. I'm going to asses the situation tonight. Need a new wing and inner wing and maybe even a new hub. ( I case I can't shift bolts or threads nackered) and idea how to remove bolts?

Could have been worse, lucky by the sounds of it. I can't see how doing them up by hand will cause them to fatigue, all you will do is bruise the alloy seat of the wheel rather than anything else. If done by the typical mechanics windy gun there there's a different story! 110Nm is not exactly exerting a lot of force.

Not sure re new studs, but I think they are pressed/pulled in.

Might be easier to get a new hub.

Enough being broken at the moment.

Good luck with it.

Correct new studs need pressing in, which means a new wheel bearing is required. If it was me, Id get a new hub.

Good to see you're safe and sound though.

i doubt its from overtightening, I tighten mine with a 3ft long bar, and have to go really tight as they get so hot on track that they can become loose if tightened the way most do for road.
It is not unusual to come in after 20mins and find they are not half as tight as before because of the heat.

They are likely high tensile bolts.

Have you ever had non hubcentric wheel spacers on as they can cause a lot of fatigue?

Not to worry you Scotttait, but would it be worth doing the other side at the same time.

Unless you can find why it failed, it would prey on my mind a bit.

Maybe someone thats more in the know on these matters could advise.
