Cracked screen

Driving home yesterday and a stone chipped the screen. Quickly spread to about 15cm but didn't get any worse. Should I go through insurance or try one of these free car park repair jobs? I assume that doesn't affect insurance?

You won't get it repaired if it's that big pal. New screen required. Didn't Mick put a post up about someone doing him a good deal on windscreens .... ?

Fair enough Dan. It's frustrating because of the way it happened. Driving along the M1 and no traffic about. Then out of knowhere this prat charges down a sliproad and rather than wait for me to pull over, they use the hard shoulder to cut in flicking up all sorts of crap I'll have a look through Micks posts.

By all means see what you can do, but where I've had to call someone out, they say if it's within the size or a 20p piece they can repair a chip. Where yours is cracked it'll be a replacement job mate ... sorry to say.

Yup, get it replaced mate. Will be great to look out of too, mine is riddled with little pitting which I notice in the sun!
