Car going….

Looks like my Audi 4.2 V8 may be going in the next couple of weeks. It’s been sorned for a while so decided best to part with it. I’ve had too many stupid thoughts about breaking it and dropping the whole drivetrain into the ZS! I still maintain it’d make a cracking sleeper, V8 quattro a lot of fabrication required and machining of parts but nothing I haven’t done before. Maybe time to get a trailer instead.

don't know what it is about audi's. Twice now I have been sitting at lights and big white SUV-type audi's have had F1 starts when the lights change.

Poor old derv, tries but they fly away.

Hope they are proud of beating a 16-year-old car!!

Haha wonder if anyone thought otherwise. Unfortunately the Audi isn’t worth much, be lucky to get £1k back as it’ll need that much again plus some to recommission it. It is 22 years old after all. It’s sitting there doing nothing so might as well free up the space.

Is it an Avant?

What does it need Mick?

It is an Avant. Genuine wide body. Needs full cam belt service inc water pump and thermostat assembly. Plus general service plus cam cover gaskets. Don’t have disposable income to sort it now, down to one wage. Don’t really want to part with it but no point in hanging on.

So is it a non runner until these things are done, or they are things that will make it run better?

It runs and drives but due to a stuck shut thermostat it heats up hence why it was sorned after its last MOT. To get to the thermostat it requires the front end off and it’s behind the cam belt, which needs doing. As it wasn’t my daily it was deemed low priority. Life gets in the way.
