Fuel Protests
Right, so If you drive a 180, you hate fuel prices more than most. And yes, if protesting about it actually benefitted our pockets, then I'd be all for it, BUT
Why, OH WHY, do the truckers think that by driving down the motorway, making all fellow motorist's lives miserable, raise the governments awareness to their plight?
I watch the news, I see the images of these 8loody idiot politicians. They look like nothing more than public school, upper class twits, that wouldn't be bale to live in the "Must hold a job down" real world. They are so detached from what it's like to travel by Motor way (because they all travel by train, and then incorrectly claim back way more than the ticket actually cost) Cough cough, perish the thought, corruption in the government.... NEVER !
Any way, the way to really raise awareness, is to form a rolling blockade around heathrow, Gatwick and the airports where freight comes in, like Stanstead. No-one pays airfreight costs unless whatever is being sent is urgently needed, otherwise it'd be on a container vessel, so blockade the airfreight inlets and heathrow, Jobs a good un. Then we can all get into work, without being given a Final written warning , because Eddie Bleeding Stobart is a bit Miffed!!!

Protests will pi$$ people off wherever they are held... they will just be different groups.
The place that you need to 'hit' the political figures is where it hurts them and no-one else. How do you do that? - No idea.

I fully agree, No-one will welcome protests, but I can only imagine that the Labour party coffers are bolstered by Industry, and by blockading the supplies most urgently sought by industry, you get a far more vocal response from the people holding Labour's purse strings. Couple that with the locality of H'row, stanstead etc to London, and the Shouts will be heard in Whitehall more, than a blockade of a motorway linking Manchester to Leeds.
I agree though that something higher profile is needed.

It's ridiculous now with fuel prices.
The Peugoet engines (older ones) can run on almost neat chip fat without any need for pre heaters or anything. I never bothered myself because it seems too much hassle fart arsing about straining it. Some of the lads I know use brand new cooking oil which is also fine........and that has shot up in price.
