I have an 063 fitted and works fine. Suppose it depends on other items fitted that may draw too much.

Correct but using too many accessories while driving will reduce the charge to the battery and driving short distance will not recharge it.

Especially during winter when you use window and mirror heaters along with wipers. They're all big consumers. Luckily, petrol ones use less current to start. For my derv I'd always choose strongest option possible that would fit the battery tray.

same with the Defender, always buy the best you can afford because you never know when you're going to need it!

I've always found TMS to be a good price for batteries around the central belt, but I dunno if they sell to the public

Me personally would always use the best I can afford, it's worth trying the scrappy to be fair you could find a good battery in there i bought a yellow top gel battery in a scrappy once and was charged 30 quid for it, if you search the Internet for this type of battery you'll see what a bargain I got, the only reason it didn't go on the zed was the terminals where flat and not round
