Yea but that's what happens when people are dishonest, I didn't factor in the extra 500 quid work, I'm in a situation where I need to recoup most of the money or all of it if poss, luckily I still have another car to use or the wife would of gone mental, she can't survive without a car

Why dont you repair it ? At the end of the day you,ve bought it , you have the tools to break it so why not use those tools to repair it ?
If you can leave it on your drive for 2 months while you break it repair it and get some use out of it ........

Yea I don't have the tools for belts mike or the knowledge, I can Service and maintain a car but when it comes to something a bit more in depth then I can't. If I was a mechanic I would of prob noticed the fault

Are you confident you could take the engine out , and put it back properly?

If you are...... I,m prepared to come down there and put a water pump and belt on it for you with the engine out on the floor

for all the tea I can drink while I,m there ( you buy the water pump and belt)

Now there's an offer! I would keep it if i had support like this, but of course i am not factoring in things like the cost of the car in the first place etc etc, but that sounds like a great offer to me

Wow cheers mike, u know I'm in Yeovil, somerrrrset, its a great offer and this forum never ceases to amaze with the togetherness, come on guys how tough is it to pull the engine out?? I have the basic tools but I have a mate with an engine hoist, if not I could hire one, hmmmmm need some input from someone who has done one, can't b that hard

If you have an engine hoist your half way there ......... a pair of axle stands and a trolley jack too

It is suprisingly easy to remove and fix, then refit an engine. I did a series one RS Turbo as my first car, but with two guys that knew their stuff which helped at the time. If you have the gear to do it, and are handy with a spanner it can a lot easier than you think. Just make a note of where the ancilleries go, take pics of complicated bits, and take your time and you'll be fine!

You don't have to take the engine out of the engine bay, just support the engine to remove the driverside engine mount.
