My ZS

Thought I should post it properly, as an ad:

Selling my 2001 ZS 120+

MoT'd til 21st of October, taxed til end of April. 77,000 miles, lots of history. Always been well looked after.
Green monaco seats with original, genuine X Power flootmats. Batwing rear spoiler.

Mods:
MkII Front end conversion
MkII Dash
K&N panel filter
Powerflow exhaust
MkII 'ZS' wing badges
17" BK Racing alloys (although they do have some curbing)
Citroen mist jets

New clutch less than 1000 miles ago. It's had a few minor probs, but nothing huge, they've all been dealt with properly, and I've loved this car no end.

I have fog lights and lower grille mesh for the car, ready to fit, I intended to do in the summer, but obviously now it's for sale. I also have an used, but unfitted BMC CDA airfilter too

Bad bits
Scratch mark to the bonnet and drivers door
May need two new front tyres
Some curbing to the wheels.
Couple of parking dings.

Pics:

Other than that I can't think of anything else wrong with it. We're selling as we want something bigger to lug our 8 week old daughter and dog around in.

I've owned the car almost 3 trouble-free years and it has been perfect in everyway, I'd like it to go to an MG lover, so this is my first stop (the forums) before eBay etc.

Average prices for a ZS with this tax and test is around £1950, I believe, so given the little bits and pieces it needs I'm looking for £1600 ovno.

Sorry your thinking of selling, but as you say needs must.

Just had a look on Autotrader, if you are throwing in the tax, I think I would go in higher, £1950, ono, you can always come down if you dont get any nibbles.

Depends how long you give yourself to do ther change.

All the best with the sale.

I've priced it at £1600, with tax as it's got a scratch on the bonnet and the passenger door, I thought this would be fair as it leaves the buyer with wiggle room to get paint sorted, or swap the door/bonnet for another anthracite one, it may need a couple of tyres, and the wheels do have some curbing. I think that with that in mind, £350-£400 off the average is fair.

I've loved the 3 years I've had the ZS, it's been faultess, but needs must. I'll still be posting on here, mind.

If I could get a new MG estate or if they'd made a ZS estate I'd buy one of those.

Ideally I want my car to go to someone who will love it as much as I have. I've got an unfitted BMC CDA filter too, that I'll chuck in.

What about sticking it on pistonheads or for that matter - .org to see if there's anyone with a ZT-T who fancies a swap ?

Other than that - it's well priced.

Although I must admit, if the filter's new, I'd expect someone here to give you an offer on that, and I'd sell it seperately.

It's a used filter. My wife doesn't like the ZT-T, we're considering a Megane Sportstourer and the Legacy Estate as well as few others. We're looking to buy new, too. Pistonheads will be my next stop, I think, along with the other MG-R forums.

Then you'll get at least £2K "scappage". Strip it down as much as you can - sell everything you'll get away with, take the £2K part ex, then get a new one mate. New Astra's nice !

Sorry to read you are selling up... i really like the MK1.5 and i wanted an anthracite one, but had to plump for xpg as diesels were rare as hens teeth when i was looking - for less than 1 year old low mileage one....

tho now I dont think i would swap it for any other colour. it really gew on me

its a lovely car, but would have thought it was plenty big enough for you, mine is the most practical car I have ever had, I have had me the wife, our two teenagers, and my nephew in his car seat and our dog in the back, and still room to spare
