Prt thermostat in a ZS

Anybody fitted a PRT thermostat into a 4-cylinder K-series ZS? Have one for the 1.8T but having trouble with the hose going from the radiator to the thermostat housing. The outlet on the radiator is smaller than the outlet on the Thermostat and I can't get a hose to fit. How have other people gotten around this issue? I heard a TF hose from one with a PRT stat fitted from factory but I want to be 100% on what will fit before spending money. Tried Pirtek to get a custom hose made up but they can't do step up/down in the hose

I know they converted to PRT on the TF due to the distance between the engine and the rad. What is the advantage in a ZS?

I'm just doing it for the 1.8 turbo engine as that's what was originally fitted in the 75/ZT so why go the hassle of changing it and then still have to route pipework in order to watercool the turbo itself

I use a PRT on all my K Series with the lastest Grey thermostat (made by LandRover especially for the K Series) All run cooler but down side in winter is take a fair bit longer to get upto temperature but not had a HG failure on any of them even the trackday engine in the 200. I use Auto silicone hoses for the lower hose adaptor

Here`s a guide from the brilliant Technozen (anyone who has suffered Pektron issues knows!).

PDF guide found in the first post. Hope that sorts your woes.
