Nightmare this weekend.

Drive up home on Friday 160miles round the corner from my parents house the brakes burst.

Luckily it didn't happen on any of the faster 2:30 of driving really!

Stepped on the brakes to avoid a car coming the other way not giving enough room for me and heard a pop and lost all braking force.

Brake fluid all over the drivers front wheel, limped it the 400meters home with the handbrake and now it's sat on my parents drive.

No jack to get it up and wheel off need to buy a new scissor jack.

Looked at getting it recovered by AA and the like but I needed to sign up £100 then the tow was only free for 50miles then £2-£5 a mile thereafter.

No chance, so I'm on the train home and It's now waiting till Wednesday evening to get couriered down to Chester where I can then look at it all and find out what let go :/

May be the opportune time to upgrade to the Clio brembos on the upside!

Bloody things.

Could have been much worse, glad you are okay. Times like this you should have breakdown and relay cover, I have never been without it!

Yeah I know. I think I got complacent living where I was with good support around that could get my cars back if needed and having three cars back in the day meant I was never without, now it seems like a necessary thing to have.

It only takes one breakdown and needing recovery and the annual fee has paid for itself already, plus other benefits it can give.

Nightmare.

Between you and Mattie, my chances of getting the Mrs to allow me another may have just gone out the window !

They aren't standard brakes though Dan. You can use that.
Maybe standards wouldn't have given up lol!

least it was a best, of the worse type of things.

Got you home safely and the car is in a secure place.

Good luck with sorting it.

They're the brembodge pug 406 calipers.

I have brackets and Clio one piece calipers to go on next. Just needed a reason lol.

Not sure if it's them or a line that's given up the ghost though :/
