A simple question........!

Found this on our local selling forum.......why would you do this???

http://forum.caithness.org/showthrea...LPG-Conversion

Don't even know of any garages up here that sell LPG!!! Just seems wrong to me.

Makes the V6 a tad cheaper to run with the lower cost of the LPG. There is a site somewhere that will show any LPG sellers near you. Though I can't think of any of top of my head round Thurso I would think there would be

Why is it wrong?

LPG is considerably cheaper than petrol and will remain so for many years as it is cheaper to produce as it is basically a waste byproduct of petrol production and it is legislated to be at least 40p lower on duty than petrol!

Although there is a slight reduction in power and ecconomy is considerably less the running cost is still much lower.

If you need that missing power just switch to petrol.

Tax is cheaper.

If you drive in London you don't pay the congestion charge.

The emmisions are basically steam so there is no problem at MOT, as long as you present the car running on LPG they have to test it on LPG.

So what are the disadvantages?
The initial instalation can be expensive, the average driver takes 2 years to cover the cost.
You loose a bit of boot space due to the tank, if you fit a toroidal tank in place of the spare wheel it goes down to virtually nothing.

It's a good idea, I'd get our 180 converted but for the fact we don't do enough miles to make it worthwhile

Lol its wrong because its a Zed 180.....why buy a car that is fun factor 10 but known to be thirsty and then convert it to LPG.....a 180 should be expensive, the grin factor makes it worthwhile!
