Had the same problem with mine coolant level was fine but light was still coming on ordered a new one from rimmer bros put that on still the same so ive disconnected it and the light comes on when you start as normal then after a few seconds goes out as it should . I just keep a check on the coolant weekly at the end of the day if I had the mk1 I would have to just check my coolant anyway coz they didn't have the sensor fitted .
