Light buld connection melted!!!!! WTF

Went out this morning and noticed dipped beam buld on passengers side wasn't working, so got a new bulb, just changed it but the connection plug is melted!! What could of caused this?

I have seen this before its normally a bad earth, or on my motorbike it melted the fuse box after fitting 100 watt bulbstoo much power going through

Yep bad earth or tarnished terminals in the multiplug - I'd pull the drivers side and give it a good blasting with contact spray to head off any problems - then off to the scrappy to find a new P/S multiplug
