No.

There are 2 differences but I suspect it would be possible to make a good mk2 version using parts from both depending on what you've broken.

The mk1 has the tempreture control valve in the engine bay controlled by a cable.
The mk2 with climate control has the control valve in the heater box, not sure about non climate control versions.

Also on the mk1 there is a vent on top of the dash, on the mk2 the outlet on the heater box is simply held shut with a clip.

Do you have climate control, basic air con or povety spec with no air con?
What have you broken?

I don't have climate control, it is a heater unit for a 1.8 120 with aircon but the aircon was removed when the VVC engine conversion was undertaken.

i have broken something which enables you to chose were the heat is displaced, i.e windows,feet...

haven't really looked in mega detail as i couldn't get the centre console out.

do you know how to remove the centre console in a mk2? seems to be attatched.

5 screws - 2 on the sides, 2 behind the switches and 1 behind the radio, that is the same on the mk1 and mk2.

I would have a look in the drivers footwell and see if a cable has become detached from the distrabution vlave on that side.

On the mk1 the controls Don't come out with the consol, with mk2 climate control the control panel does, not sure about your version.

I know how to get the console out..

the probelm is that when i removed all the bolts you just stated above, the heater controls come away with it all..

how can i get it out without them? thats how something has broken as i didnt realise and gave it a little pull.

The heater controls are supposed to come out with the console, did you disconnect the 2 cables from the heater box, accessed from the drivers footwell.
