Got a boost pack last year .... Great to have in the shed if you need one incase you can't get to another car either for a jump. Get one from Halfords while there's a sale on.

Had a spare battery in the shed, charged it up, (or so I thought) swopped it over with my dead one and chug, chug, chug.

Starts OK with jump leads, so off to buy a new battery tomorrow.

It's not advisable to bump start a car with a 'cat' - petrol get's into it and causes it to disentegrate.
