Insurance Changes

On the back of a previous thread on insurance cover I decided to call my company and get a quote for intended changes and was surprised. I was also shocked at what I pay now £272 fully comp! and that was with declared exhaust mods and induction.

With the addition of 18" wheels, bucket seat/harness, remap was only an admin fee of £27. I also increased my annual mileage from 5k to 15k and it now sits at £332 if I discount the admin fee. So all in all it is not that bad. But like I said before certain items that are not regarded as standard or optional equipment are not covered. So my only increase was down to the increased mileage and an admin fee.

Question is, would I get a better deal with a specialist?

Out of curiosity I did the 'gocompare' or 'confused' route or whatever it is and Admiral were the only one that came up with cover for said mods. Good job I am with them anyway and get discounts for a multi-car policy, which I would not get elsewhere.
