midcuk is on a distinguished road
zs 180 mk2 tyres which size is best

got cheap and nasty 205 tyres on mine (came like that from stealer different brand of crap on each corner) going to upgrade to a quality set but are there any other tyre size options i can use ie wider 225 / lower 40 ? want the best possible.

You can use other sizes but if something does go wrong (which i hope it doesn't) and you have an accident your insurance MAY be invalid.

205 profile are the correct size to fit 7" rims which was fine with the MK1 but with the MK2 the rims were 7.5" wide so the correct size is actualy 215/40/17. MG were just tight arsed bast's and fitted 205's no doubt to save a couple of quid ! 225's will be too wide which in my opinion is worse than too narrow as the side walls get very stressed.

OE fitment is the best, 205/45x17.
