Question Number plates....

My new number plate only has 5 characters, so as long as there is a border of 11mm from the 1st and last character to the edge, can i cut it so it aint as long? (I read somewhere that you need at least 11mm around the characters for it to be legal)

I think you are right, IIRC those plates where it looks like the outline of the characters has been cut out are legal because the distance to the edge of the plate was >11mm

yeah I know a few people who have trimmed the edges off a bit, and as above as long as there's at least 11mm between the letters and the edge you'll be ok

I know someone that has a square number plate. Their registration consists of one number and one letter.
