Could you for sayings sake, measure from a fixed point on the cars...maybe directly from one of the hangers welded to the body to the tip of the exhaust and you would get a figure showing the difference that way??
Coming off the bracket for the rear lower control arm, on the saloon to the outermost edge of the heatshield is 935mm. Hatch is 790mm. So the tip of your exhaust (ideally) would be no more than 800mm from they same point. Or 135mm back from the outside bit of the heatshield.
