Birth trip...

Well this weekend was the Zeds anniversary trip. 12 years ago next week he rolled off the lines at Longbridge and dispatched only a few miles north to Lichfield to await his new owner. So as I was going that way this weekend to see my daughter a little trip was planned..........After visiting the museum at Gaydon, up to Hopwood services, and that was strange seeing it full of normal cars, not full of MGR vehicles on a POL day!

Then quip trip to the factory gates, for the usual pics in front of the the gate with MG flag in background, then it was a visit to the waste lands...Very sorry site to see so much of the plant flattened, but even sadder is every now and then was bits off the old factory still there.

Took few pics and then round to the "village" where a human top up in sainsburys but more rubble to be seen

Then before the Zed broke down in tears and refused to start, it was up the A38 to Lichfield to the garage where he was sold. It is now a FORD garage, but you could still see bits of the old MG/Rover days, especially around the back.....

A very sentimental few hours......................
