I delivered the free local paper, every thursday. 285 houses, got ?3.45 a week. Did theat from 13 to 16 when I gave up to concentrate on my A-Levels.

I had a crush on the woman who used to deliver my bundle of papers.............

Leaving school at 16 and went to work for a Plastics factory deburring the sharp edges from the vac formed GRP panels got ?80 pw, was there for 6 months until they said "sorry, we have to let you go...", next was working in a bakery starting work at 2 in the morning making rolls, cakes mutton pies etc etc, that lasted 2 weeks as I hated the place plus the hours were crap too, next registered with an employment agency and started work as a vanboy at a high street chain of Electrical stores, progressing to fulltime as a driver, was there for 2 years until they wents tits up, next went to college for 2 years doing Electronic Engineering NC and HNC level, got a job for a local electronics factory and spent the next 8 years there, until they went tits up, next is my present employer been here now 7 years and get to travel around the globe doing installation and commissioning duties.

Just about, working in the office at Stringers, BMC garage in Bournemouth. 6 months on the floor doing oil changes and servicing so I knew what I was invoicing.

Days of the 1100, with headlinings dropping off, water leaks etc. Think I took home about ?7.50.

Downhill from there.
