that solved that then haha

I'm still on standard midsection, the rest is Janspeed. I assume a stainless midsection later won't make enough difference to count. I know you should do modd first then remap but I don't count midsection as a power increasing mod.

Also my mil comes on since fitting Janspeed manifolds, do I need to fix this first? I have a spare sensor I can butcher.

Do you have a sports cat, decat or standard cat?

Congrats Craig, get used to not having time to clean your car. Somehow I've managed about 8 hours of tweaking and two quick washes in a month...[/QUOTE]

Thanks for te congrats, oh yes well aware of the limited time to play around with the car. My 4 year old loves to come and "help Daddy" when I'm either cleaning or tweaking things which is lovely but sometimes a bit of a slower way of doing things so when no 2 comes I no my time on car will almost vanish lol.
Luckily I have a very understanding mrs that knows my interest in cars will never go so she allows me to get on with things as and when I can afford to do it. (obviously between the more important things lol)

If we find out a date rather than time as I worded it wrong then yeah once we know that I would be very interested. Few minor mods on mine so hopefully would see a reasonable gain if it all works out
Will keep a watchful eye for updates...

Not wanting to open a can of worms here we are not talking big figures as already mentioned but improving the standard map which is poor when analysed. I was happy with the changes so for me was worth the money when compared with what gains manifolds can give considering their costs.

From a rough average standard of 177 mine rose to around 191 with decat, cat back exhaust and a BMC CDA induction, when remapped this rose by another 9-10 so in my book not too bad. However as said the top end is where the changes were seen as the AFR was poor on the standard map.

Bottom line is the figures are for pub talk.

Meaning it's all about the afr/smoother drive? I would like to be sure my afr is right and get a bit more grunt/mpg. So long as all is healthy and it feels nicer to drive I don't care what the actual numbers are* but to put the effect of the map into perspective, assuming:

175 standard
+ induction = 185
+ full exhaust = 195
+ remap = 205???

Aiming at low/midrange not top end as it's a daily driver. Also my MIL appeared the other day. Do I get this sorted, map round it, or ignore it??
Does one opt for power/mpg high/low end or is it a case of just 'better'? I assume worse emissions is the downside, pah. I read that our 227g/km would be more like 200 using todays testing methods so I figure I've got 10% to play with for the tax we pay

Good idea to service the car before going eh, my plugs are at leat 2 years old.

*If i pull 160 on the first run I'll be mad. Better pack my soldering iron...

Not sure what figures would be seen if manis are fitted, still guess around 200 maybe a little more, each car is different. Economy will improve slightly but will only be noticed when driven sensibly! It will also be a little smoother. It won't be noticed straight off as most will be experiencing placebo when driving home, it's a natural thing. Over time you will notice the difference when things settle down and the novelty has worn off when fed up visiting the pumps!
