'New Chinese' MG...Just Doesnt Have The Samme Appeal...

As above, i know it is early days for the chinese owners, but, the fact that it is no longer british owned and the way that when the chinese got hold of the MG brand they came over here and destroyed the majority of Longbridge has ruined its appeal. I still have a lot of interest in the MG's that we all own but from the chinese era, its just not the same. What do we all think....?
(does anybody know if the original disused Longbridge pictures from 28 days later are still available to look at somewhere?)

Yip i totally agree

And i recon by the time they come up with a Zs replacement it will be to little to late. because they have left it that long people have started looking elsewhere.

It wont have the same appeal thats for sure, but it may have a different yet still positive appeal depending on how things go.

Hopefully they will keep things sportscar oriented, and not go down the Toyota or Mazda kind of road where the produce mostly run of the mill cars but with some sporty top models. I know you can get 1.6 and 1.8 ZSs but theyre still fun sporty cars even with the smaller engines. I suppose Im just hoping they dont become 'just another car manufacturer', nothing special.

I totally agree. I've driven the new TF and hated it

They have taken what was a good car and painted it a different colour 5 years later

yes they are in the media area - but I think you might have to be a site supporter to get in there
