Removing passenger seat?

My passenger seat has now come loose (the drivers one did a year ago!) and I need to take out to put the bolts back in. Im going to take it out for my trackday anyway.

I need a T50 torx bit. Would anyone recommend these cheap sets on ebay?

Get the type that go on the end of your socket. You can have your seat out in 10 minutes easily with one of those. Messing with cranked ones is a right pain. Don't forget about the seat wireing.....

yeah the halfords half inch drive set is ideal, undo them tip the seat back onto the bench and undo the wire then take it out he front door, and do thingss sloowwwwlllyy so you dont scratch anything

I'm always paranoid about unplugging airbag cables, so I left my battery disconnected for half an hour, if you feel the same. I'm guessing others have done it without disconnecting the battery. I had my passenger seat out when I put brand new seat covers on it, that ******* was so heavy, I didn't want to put it back in!

Yes, the Halfords version is fine as theta is what I bought. Just make sure the head of the bit is fully 'home' before undoing, avoids wear on the bolt socket.

My seats have been in/out a few times, no real need to disconnect the battery. Just think how many times we have SRS light issues because of that crap BMW connector!
