Too right! It's just such a pity the zs only sits in the top bracket by 2g!! It's hardly a supercar. It does tempt me in to getting janspeed manifolds, if I going to be payin for emissions may as well make the most of it!

TBF, I can't see why the emissions are classed as so high? My MOT's all say its less than that and under the new measurement system its more like 218g... or so I'm told anyway...
Honestly I think the government should change a cars band based on last MOT... That way people would be forced to look after their cars more or pay more in tax... But hey its all a scam to get as much money as possible out of people!!!

Any idea what VED they'll charge on a '97 escort with a modified engine? If its standard ?245, then thats ~?200 saving on tax that'll just about cover dropping a 2L zetec into my 'scort... Hm.

Im an ancient 43!!!!!!!!!!! My pay is crap,, cos my firm pays such a low salary and hypes it up with bonus, ok in old days when people had their Fords serviced at our garage.
I earnt ?150 less month than the same month last year........And for 2010 we had a 0% pay rise. Still find the dosh to keep my ZSthough. It keeps me sane.

That sounds so very sad but true for some of us, I can't justify paying 425 quid for a car too tax for a year plus other running costs and insurance!
I earn fairly good money, but I am single at the mo, and have a mortgage to pay, plus bills etc, I have had too cut back already on some luxuries, I hope the 180 won't have too go? Still looking for a rich lady in her forties to take me under her wing! lol

As far a I believe it a 5th of road tax is spent on the roads the rest as said goes to other services and to help fund wars abroad!!

This tax band thing is disgusting the motorist is an easy target & being bullied here!
The Government is doing this to us! & i guess as the last Government f***** the economy up then things wont get any easier in the years to come!
I`m glad i went for my 110 last year as i was looking at 180`s myself but felt the little 110 still had the looks & the cheaper running costs made it the viable option for me!

well I looked into this today and providing your ZS180 was registered before 23 March 2006 we get put into band K which even if the CO2 figures exceed band K we only pay ?245 for the year or ?134.75 for 6 months
So ZS can stay in the garage and my ZT190+ can be kept! going to buy her some toys now lol
