Possible new MG ZS

Hi Guys...

I've owned a ZR for the past year and it was worte of last week, after being rear-ended.

I’ve been looking about for a new car and I’m going to test drive and maybe buy a mk2 ZS tomorrow.

It’s the 2.0l (101?) model. I’ve been a member of the mgzr.co.uk for a few years now but don’t really know much about ZS’s.

Is there any major things I should be looking out for?

Is there really much of a difference between the 101 and 115 diesel engines?

That's a great one mate, i'd snap that up right away if it's in good nick - very rare combo!

Looks wise you can't do much better than a black mk2 kitted saloon and it sounds well spec'd - plus derv engine with todays fuel prices is always a bonus (as well as being very reliable) - that's if you can put up with derv performance/noise!

Great cars though mate, world apart from the ZR.

I don't know that much about the differences but it does look and sound good from the description. Guess the major difference being the power output and how it is to drive on daily basis. Have you driven a derv before?

I had the 101 BHP version and loved it, was suprising quick for what it was and the fuel consumption was brilliant, never had a problem with mine, was my dads from new then mine and only ever needed serviced and a few exhaust bits in 115k!

I know one way to tell the difference s that the 115 BHP model has disks on the rear and the 101 has drums. there are prob more but im sure somebody will let you know.

I've drove diesels before but never a MG Rover Derv. If all looks 100% tomorrow this could well be the new car

It may have belonged to a forum member before, if that's the case chances are it was well looked after. I may be mistaken though!

also if you so wish, these diesel engines can get some great tuning and a nice bit of torque out of them!

Belfast registered... only 2 people on here from N.I. that i can immediately think of and the only one who has a black ZS is me. Not a 'turf burner' though.
