Only ever changed them if they leak (iirc none ever has!) or if I happen to have one by some flook - God knows how many oil changes I've done on my cars + family & friends over about 30 odd years.

Smile

I'm lazy and use a sucker outer, down the dipstick tube.

Do it every 6 months or so, but last time took it to Nationwide for filter and oil, charged extra ?10 to take the undertray off!!!

I know Ritchy will say you leave all the swarf and crud in the bottom of the sump, but its such a bind dropping it out the plug hole. Either goes up your arm or over the drive.

Maybe I could suck it out then undo the plug and wont have the same amount to rush out.

Popular in the US, especially at drive through service centres.
