All the parts are available new for sub £500, what's the other £1000 for.

Surely that's just some filler and paint, can't be more than a couple of hundred worth of damage.

The way I read that - they are giving you £1500+ and the car !!! If that's the case that is a right result !

So that is what £1.5k worth of damage looks like then. Clearly i am in the wrong business.

There is damage to rear bumper, and both bits of trim over the wheel arch and there is a tiny dent on the body where it meets the clips that hold the bumper on this will also need filling and painting and also the wheel has been badly scratched too. To have them repaired they need to be removed filled and prepped and painted, the wheel needs re-furbing and checking, as it may be buckeled (they said all 4 would be done). Also there is the cost of a hire car to be added too, so you can easily see how the cost can soon rise..

i would try some polish on that first, i reckon a good machine polish on that and most of it will be gone, what ever is left a good smart repair will sort the rest
