ZS=Civic ?

We all know that the ZS is based on the Rover 400, which in turn is based on a Honda Civic. As a result some parts are interchangeable between the two cars.

My question is, what is the Honda Civic designation for the model that is "equivalent" to the ZS (e.g. EK, EG)?

96 to 2000 5 door 'MB' series.

MB6 is the exact code for the 5 door hatch Civic, but there were of course variants of this

You will find the engine code at http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/

You will have to bit of searching for the correct models but I found that the '97 Civic type R is "Code - 16B 98 spec.R "

Yep, but the B16B lump used in the Type-R came out of an EK9, which is totally the wrong body shape!

Civic Type-R (EK9)

The one you want to be interested in is the B18C4... That's the 185bhp beasty with LSD

MB6 Civic

There was also a 'MC2' Aerodeck variant, which MG-R should have used for a ZS wagon IMO

I think (I could be wrong) that the MA had the smaller 1.4 engine?

Don't know too much about that generation of Civic TBH... More into my older Civic/CRX's
