Plan is now mainly related to drying out the MK2

See what the engine is doing, if fixable then it'll stay as it is engine wise.
If it is fully kaput then the mk1 will be a donor with added extras:
Piper BP270H (think they're the right ones) with Verniers.
Belts done while the engine is out.
And add on some janspeed manifolds (unless something better can be done)
Add in a lightened flywheel and LSD.
Renew the engine bushes while its out, I did think about poly bushing them but didn't want to increase NVH into the cabin.
Remap I think at a place in Cumbria called JDM dyno heard good things about them.

All the while the mk1 will be stripped for parts and shell scrapped. Hopefully wont need to come to this though.

I'll get the interior out and try to dry it out and tidy up some bits in there:
Add some deadening material to the floor pan, roof and a/b/c pillars and bulkhead if I can get to it and seal up any holes that aren't used to stop road noise getting in!
Then following that put a thin layer of sound proofing foamy stuff before putting the carpet back in.
Gonn be a busy time getting it back and sorted on the road.

Yeah, I found it tiring just typing it out.

tcb 180 will become famous soon enough
Well its the new year and we normally experience breakdowns before christmas. The last two years have been slipped cam belts on two seperate Vauxhall 1.8 units and weather was not too disimilar to what it is now. Rain Rain and more bloody Rain!

We realised it is also a time when we tend to purchase our cars too. The Astra Gte was a December 21st purchase 5yrs ago. The Astra 1.7 Diesel Estate was this time last year and the wrx Scooby this time two years ago. Unfortunately the latter still remains in bits after two garage let downs so guess what?

Yep! Bought another one yesterday and picking her up tomorrow. W reg uk spec turbo which is totally unmolested and comes with just 83k on the clock. She is a beaut tbh.

Mot for 10 months new belts a while ago was dry stored for 6yrs of its life and covered around 11k by current keeper. Recent new clutch too and all work carried out by garage where I did my time.

All for £1,700. Another joint enterprise between the lad and I.

will post up some pics later.

Anyone want to buy a 1994 wrx with stripped engine plus loads of new parts?
