How do you like your cylinders?

Just watching an old Jensen on TV and love the V8 rumble, made me think what's everyone's preference? I know V12's are more exotic but tbh they aurally do little for me. I have included V6's and inline4's to cover our cars but tbh I love V6's but have to plump for V8

tallgeese is on a distinguished road
I love the sound and power of a V8 but as I can't afford one I'm happy with my twin cam 4pot

I voted before looking at the poll and was surprised that everyone so far had gone for a V8! Just shows what a presence that sound makes. Many years ago I built a V8 powered Chevette track car and then a Bedford CF350 tow van. I have plans to buy a V8 Mustang before I retire, perhaps within the next 5-10 years.

One engine that I have a soft spot for is the 5 cyl Audi engine as fitted to the 80, 100 and coupes in the 80s, built and raced many of them too, great engines and go on and on. Unique sound.

There is something about the rumble of a V8.

I am probably going to get me a big old American yank tank at some point in the future.... have always found that sound desireable.

there is an AMG merc that goes up my hill periodically that I hear from the house, and that sounds tasty too in fairness!

Even my 3.5 Range Rover had that nice V8 rumble.

The first car sound I remember was the old Rover P5 3.5 V8.

The V6 sounds close, both in the ZS and in my old Espace 2.9 (don't, it was given to me ).

Then there is the unique sound of a flat four, especially hi po versions.
