It's not a ZS, but my new car

Morning All.
I decided I wanted something fun to drive, so I picked this up yesterday

Something "fun" to drive? The Mondeo's don't have a nickname of "mundane-o's" for no reason you know lol

Looks like a nice car... have allways wondered how the ST's stack up against the 180's...

I would have thought the 180 was more fun, hope you enjoy it.

I suspect the 180 has it in the Handling and economy stakes (apparently the early ST's are not very efficient when it comes to fuel economy, not sure about the later ones?) but the ST might just take it in straight line speed... I'm unsure of the Power to weight ratio of them though!

Used to drive one of these as a works car, so got to drive it rather quickly and in a somewhat spirited manner. Even got the mpg down to single figures!! Was my favourite traffic car. When we changed to BMW's in 08, I would instead take out the 04 plate ST with 100,000 miles on the clock, as a point to point car it was awesome. The beemers were no match for it. Biggest issues was ground clearance, damned speed humps.

Having also owned a face lift 180, in my very humble opinion the ST handles better than the 180. You could carry more corner speed in the ST, brakes were better and the sound was fantastic. All it really lacked was another 50bhp as in straight line you always felt the chassis could easily handle more.

180 way better on fuel though. As to which was quicker straight line in the real world, my bum reckons they were about the same.

If I could afford to run one, I would own an ST220, brilliant cars.

Strange, I have driven both regularly as well, the 180 is much more fun (to me anyway)

As much as I love the 180, there just wasn't any for sale within a decent distance that I was impressed with. I took it for a test drive and just fell in love with it.

It drives really nicely and the noise of the V6 is just so addictive and it just feels like such a solid car to drive, no rattles or knocks.
