My vectra

Hi all Although I no longer have a ZS, I'd still like to stick around because I like the attitude on these forums

As some of you may know my ZS 120+ was written off because I got rear ended, I was going to buy it back but the clutch release bearing had just started going and I got a nice offer for the car.
From here I started looking at ZS 180 but couldn't get insured as I'm 20, so that was that.

... So then I bought a vectra diesel -Puts flame suit on-
It's a 2.0 litre diesel turbo, so it's not too slow
It's huge compared to my ZS and of course doesn't handle as well, but the savings in fuel, insurance and tax make it worthwhile for now.

My own touches are:
- Orange cat
- Black grill

The condition of the paintwork wasn't the best, so today I set about sorting it out and adding my own touches (some of you may not like them). I woke up at 7am and did the following:
- Washed
- Used Meguires Scratch X on a few places
- Used a clay bar
- Used a chipstick on some of the stone chips
- Polished
- Used a spray on the black plastics

Here are the results - I was quite suprised by the shine!

Take the orange cat off & you have a nice car.
Wheel trims would look better than showing steel wheels,
Really needs alloys.

We had a Cavalier 1600 auto, for 15 years, great car, never let us down.

Think you made a good choice, derv's the way to go. I'm pleased with my one.

Think your one looks like new, well worth the effort.

No worries about that, I'm constantly reminded by the fact its not my MG by the fuel gage and the size of the car

ZS Phil has a spectacular aura aboutZS Phil has a spectacular aura about
Hate to say it but if you were set on another ZS and insurance / fuel consumption were putting you off then why not just get a diesel ZS? Fair play if you wanted something bigger and softer but a strange choice for a 20 year old. Not that I can talk, had a V6 75 when I was 19 but soon fired that off to make way for MGs again. Diesel is deffo where its at with fuel prices.

It was just the price of a diesel ZS really, and I'm ultra picky as I'd want a MK2 with the bodykit
I'll definitely be getting a ZS180 at some point though What I'm hoping is to get a 180 which is under my dads insurance with me as a named driver as it won't be my daily driver and my dad enjoyed my old ZS too
