Web Builder....?

Any one on the site know how to build a website ?

I've not really said what i do but as i've been a member for some while Its probs time I opend up, as i'm in need of some help ....

I'm a FCP Editor, basically i play with video music and pictures all day, that might sound cool and fun, but allot of what i do is corporate seminars and conferences, so actually very boring!

I Built my own website using I-Web about 3 months ago, but when i upgraded to the new mac i lost the project!?!?! and am reluctant to say the least to have to start it all over again.

Another point is that I-Web will only allow me to upload .mov video's, which is useless to the majority of PC users, i'd much rather use flash.

Here's a link to my very rudamentry site, with 1 motors exmaple currently uplaoded

and another link to the promo i edit on tuesday night, which btw took 17 hpours from pressing record on the camera, to delivering a dvd to the client!! impressed myself lol

If anyone could offer me some help it would be much appriciated, and you never know i might be able to get you some knock on work, as i do get asked from time to time.

Huffy, my tuppence is to use a CMS such as Wordpress or Joomla for the site. Does your host allow that?

Wordpress is good and highly customisable, if you know how

Sometimes though one tailored to your conditions is better.

The latest one was good, it was free on the MS website until last year but I lost it when I had to do a "one of the kids downloaded a virus" reboot and of course it isn't available anymore as they don't support it.

I have tried other WYSISWYG programs but they are either limited trials or just crap, even the serif "web-builder" is no good as it saves the pages in some strange format and you can't edit HTML.

Its actually real really easy to build a website in HTML the port it onto wordpress.

This is usually the best idea as your not limited and once its complete you just need to show the client how to edit the pages in the admin control panel.

If you wanted it more media based (videos) joomla is the better option.
