At least on the MGR it is there to serve a practicle purpose whereas on the ford it is to serve some chav requirment to know that the engine is there!

Simon - how does it get activated? I would have thought it would be easier to disconnect it than swap them over for track days.

No cos in the Volvos, it sounds meatier due to a better exhaust system.

volvo 5 cylinder turbo charged have to say if you unplug it its dead quiet but when its plugged it oh yeah its a beast plus you can remove it and put the dump valve in its place or run both so i know what im doing when i have a job

I was led to believe that the volvo 5 cylinder engine was borrowed from Audi and is a bored out 2.3 as used in the Quattro!

theres a pipe that goes from the inlet into the bulkhead, not just 2009 cars
