Removing Air Con unit Issues?

Hi,

Since changing my 180 engine in my ZS, the air con wasnt working before and noticed it was leaking from the grill part. So chopped pipes to make the installation of the engine in the bay easier.

Im now wondering if I will encounter any issues removing the Air Con unit from behind the fans?

Bumper off job, but will removing that large part blocking the air to the engine improve the cars breathing?
