This! by the time you have sold, counted your losses and spent on a new car your fuel difference will not be that much at all, only at 15000 miles plus will a diesel show real benifit, right now you could be looking to change for pennys per month

well i have done the math and i am looking to change to a wee lupo diesel and it will be saving me over £100 a month and i will still have the yellow one tho so the zs wil still be in my blood lol

well at the moment i am getting 30 mpg out of my car at the moment and with a lupo diesel they are about 65 mpg on a bad run to that will take about £50 off of my fuel bill a month roughly and do a quote on the insurance and they will drop my monthly premiums by £65 a month and the lupos are only £30 a year to tax as well so there is more of a saving there

But how much will the lupo cost to buy? Im sorry but if you are only getting 30 mpg from a 1.6 k series on a run then it isnt running properly or needs a dam good service.
Why not look at something with an L series like a zr or zs, you really wont be dissapointed with performance or mpg. Plus you can keep a bit of dignity rather than driving a lupo, having said that I do like the 1.6 GTI although they are massively over priced for what they are.
