Well done, been on the look out for bits myself for years now.

That OBD thing appears for some american cars.

The total closure unit works by measuring the power drawn by the winder motor, this increases when the glass reaches the top as the motor tries to work harder.

I used a Honda mirror adjustment switch with powerfold button, but i've swapped it since for a Land Rover Disco II version.
The Honda meant I'd need to cut a bit of dash out to get it to fit snug, and I bottled it! So I chose a Landy Disco one, which with a bit of filing, fitted ok.
Can't get the mirror glass to adjust 100% correctly on the drivers side (up seems to get mixed up going to the left as well, and down seems to try to go to the right too! lol), even after using a multimeter, but passenger side works great. I'll not give up though!
Every now and again the mirrors, on unfolding (unlocking the car) have a dicky fit and close again (as if I've locked the car), but the manual toggle (fold) function enables me to unfold them again, without having to go through the process of locking/unlocking the car. Rare this has happened though, since fitting the powerfolds in April.

Lovely mod, I want to do that. A how to would be nice too. How does it work through the central locking? Do they not fold back in when the car auto locks about 5mph?

As for the R 800 auto closure, they have a window and sunroof CCU under the passenger seat for it.

The ecu (powerfold module) takes a feed from the central locking. I joined the module up to the drivers door central locking wires just before they exit the car body and into the rubber door tube (A post to drivers door). Just behind the fuse box. One for unlock pulse and one for lock pulse. The module has a speed activated lock inhibitor. A feed is taken off a source that is ONLY LIVE WITH ENGINE RUNNING, and ZERO volts with ignition in positions 1&2. I found this feed at the alternator, but there may well be others. This live feed with engine running tells the module to ignore the locking pulse when 4/5 mph is reached, so the doors lock, but the mirrors don't fold in.
The powerfold module also has a connection for a manual toggle function, allowing manual fold, even with engine running.
The module ignores the engine running live feed, to allow manual fold.

It was an option on the zt, so not all of them have them, they need to be post 2003 as well, the pre 2003 mirrors were different.

For the covers, yes, the zs and zt mirror bodies are the same and so are the covers.
