Smile

We went into Poole today and parked up in a multi-story car park by the bus station.

Took the Punto, as the parking bays are narrow and its a tight twisty, entry/exit ramps, with horrid bends. Black scrape marks all down the concrete walls!!!!!!!!!

Any way, as we walked back to the car, I tested the remote and it worked across half the length of the car park!!!!!!!!! I said at the time, ZS wouldnt do a thing till you got within a couple of feet of it.

Must be a makers thing, in the mornings when we go to get the transits, we can open them from over 20ft away................. I prefer the closeness of the ZS, less chance of anyone copying the code, and stealing my baby....

R8NMG will become famous soon enough
Both my fobs have pretty bad range. Sometimes even have to press several times depending where I'm standing by the car. It has nothing to do with the battery condition, it is just the way it is. The fob uses one CR2032 battery.

The remote has a short range so that you have to be in close visual contact.

The range can be improved by extracting the yellow wire from the main loom which shields it, doubling it's length and laying it close to the top of the dash, it comes out of the 5AS ecu on earlier cars, not sure about later ones.

We have 2 merc sprinters and a renault van at work, the remote on these works from about 200 metres!
