Has anyone on here done the Category B+E trailer test?

Hi lads, I'm in need of some help

Has anyone on here done the Category B+E trailer test? I'm trying to book mine before I get my touring car back again and all the DirectGov site has succeeded in doing is confusing me totally.

Apparently I've been towing it about for years illegally after my last trip onto that daft government site had me thinking I was legal because the trailer was within the rated towing capacity of the towing vehicle.

I've found a local company that do training but they say I need a provisional Category B+E licence? Where do you get that?

Thanks!

Ooh. Ages since I was doing that, but I think you just need to apply to the dvla for provisional licence same as any other. Form at post office? Or maybe online.

I've done LGV C+E so the same idea but bigger.

Try http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring...ce/DG_10012514 for info on licences.

Isn't your full license your provisional for towing?

A couple of people have said that now. Think I'll need to phone the training place tomorrow when I get home

I'm looking at doing it with CTTS in Bathgate as they use roads local to me... I dunno if that helps but it might.

I've been towing for years now so hopefully it'll just be a case of passing the test. If I can reverse the touring car, through the back gates of the Dreadnought compound, driving an Astra van, that you can't actaully see anything out of, using just the mirrors - I should be fine lol
