The way cams are run in is very important and if done incorrectly will shorten there life massively!!

Went to check the cam pulleys the fronts were fine, but sods law one of the bolts for the rear cover was threaded so had to leave it for the time being, will have a go at them again later.

Well stethoscope arrived today, after listening to my heart beat and stomach for a while I had an investigate with the car.

To be honest I'm more confused now than before, listen to the cam pulley covers and they were noisy but not really the tapping I was listening for,

The rear cylinder head was hard to get at but that sounded rather quite or at least more so than I expected..half expected to go deaf with the stethoscope!!!

The Inlet manifold was quite noisy there were definitely some rattling there and alot of air noise. Although it was hard to tell if this was the same noise.

So not really any closer to finding the cause of my rattle!
