heres a couple of pics of my first ever MG (and my first car!). i bought this little Metro back in 1996 at the tender age of 17 and i loved it! so much better than the Novas and Fiestas my mates were tooling round in!

after progressing through Escorts, Astras, 200s and the like, my first steps into the Zed world were 3 years ago with this little beastie. she was a 120+ with everything bar the 17's. the hairpins looked cool though. still wish i had her today TBH, she would look great in the drive next to the 180!

and bang up to date, my 180! her future is still uncertain at the moment but for the meantime, i love her!

I converted a 1.0(?) litre metro into an MG (all barr the engine lol). It was a complete work over and nothing was missing - other than the aforementioned engine - carpets, seat belt covers, dash and I even had it sprayed red before adding the decals. just wish I'd taken some pics.

its all a matter of running costs TBH Sammy. im in the RAF currently based at RNAS Culdrose down on the Lizard but i am being moved into married quarters on Wednesday in Newquay, 35 miles away. to be fair, i will get petrol money, about £220 a month but until i start doing the commute, i dont know if that will be enough for the thirsty V6. i have been toying with the idea of a diesel, maybe a ZT or even something foreign..... :osama:

£220 should just about cover it. I do 54 or 56 miles return to work (5 days) and a little bit of pottering about, but about £180-ish for the month is what i'd be using.

Liking the little Metro. Some of those could fly! :)

You could always opt for a ZS diesel, for a very small outlay they can be tweeked upto 140 bhp with loads of torque to boot. If your feeling very mad you can get them up to 190 bhp, but that will cost quite alot!

No, that's a GTM, originally known as Cox GTM in the late 60s IIRC.

As you say it is a GTM, it was one of the later one's I built it around 1985/6
great little car, Mid mounted Mini engine (1300GT in this case), built like a racing car, metal tub and fibreglass body. I have other pics but they are all on slide or negative, the prints were lost -I must get them onto the PC....

Here's my previous 3 MGs (all sold now)

MGB has been in dry storage for a few years now, think it needs some work.

Silver 1600 Maestro has gone to car park in the sky I think

Blue EFi is still going strong.

(note to self: time goes way too fast. Pic was taken in summer '94)

Heres my current and previous MG's

Middle picture shows my 1st MG , my old ZR160 that was used as a display car at the BTCC in 2003/4. Was the 1st ZR to feature a full rally car body kit (though not shown in this shot) until every chav under the sun got hold of them ! Also had an Xpower re-map, one off custom built Scorpion group-N spec' exhaust (used as their donor car), 1st ever set of ABC black Magic rear lights and loads more mods'. Was dynoed at 194 BHP after being re-bored to a 1.9 ! Was also featured in Total MG before the car was completed. Was then stripped down and returned to 99% standard and sold in February 2006.

This was the replacement, my 1st ZS180 - picture 1. Far more subtle than the ZR in appearance but it certainly had a bite ! Custom built Powerflow exhausts tuned to sound like a TVR, Green induction with custom mount and air feed, sports cat' and a superchip. Dynoed at 207 BHP this car really shifted ! Sold in June this year and replaced with my pearl black MK2 180 as shown in the 3rd picture !
