Cool my previous MGs!

heres a couple of pics of my first ever MG (and my first car!). i bought this little Metro back in 1996 at the tender age of 17 and i loved it! so much better than the Novas and Fiestas my mates were tooling round in!

after progressing through Escorts, Astras, 200s and the like, my first steps into the Zed world were 3 years ago with this little beastie. she was a 120+ with everything bar the 17's. the hairpins looked cool though. still wish i had her today TBH, she would look great in the drive next to the 180!

and bang up to date, my 180! her future is still uncertain at the moment but for the meantime, i love her!

I converted a 1.0(?) litre metro into an MG (all barr the engine lol). It was a complete work over and nothing was missing - other than the aforementioned engine - carpets, seat belt covers, dash and I even had it sprayed red before adding the decals. just wish I'd taken some pics.

its all a matter of running costs TBH Sammy. im in the RAF currently based at RNAS Culdrose down on the Lizard but i am being moved into married quarters on Wednesday in Newquay, 35 miles away. to be fair, i will get petrol money, about £220 a month but until i start doing the commute, i dont know if that will be enough for the thirsty V6. i have been toying with the idea of a diesel, maybe a ZT or even something foreign.....

I was a confirmed Metro Turbo nut i've had 3 off them, 4 if you count re shelling my first one into the blue shell.

Here's a few of my cars...

The GTM

The first Metro Turbo after re-build into newer rustfree shell, originally silver.

The Third Metro Turbo

After Gearbox and Engine rebuild

Metro Spares Anwhone....

Well that's a few of them, there were lots of Mini's before that,
Cooper's and Cooper S's

£220 should just about cover it. I do 54 or 56 miles return to work (5 days) and a little bit of pottering about, but about £180-ish for the month is what i'd be using.

Liking the little Metro. Some of those could fly!

You could always opt for a ZS diesel, for a very small outlay they can be tweeked upto 140 bhp with loads of torque to boot. If your feeling very mad you can get them up to 190 bhp, but that will cost quite alot!
