Hi guys, new to this forum and so far fascinated with the content,chat etc., Just out of interest do any of you recognise this car. 05 ZS turbo diesel in X-power grey, full 180 kit,body colour wheels,air-con,elec sunroof etc. Under the bonnet there,s a cone filter fitted and the reg is M 18 LPM. Dealer knows nothing about it, says took it as a part chop. Mlge is reading 114000 and hopefully I,m doing a deal this week. Any info would be helpful! Sorry cant post any pics but will try once bought!

Hi, when you drive the car make sure it revs up to the limiter and it pulls from around 1800 revs, if it doesnt, its the MAF gone, not too bad a job, but a bargaining point.

Also the belts should have been done, are good cars.

Its not for sale anymore!..........Owing to work commitments(I work away from home) dont collect till 26th. Took it for another test today, pulls like a train! and on the very bumpy village road there was little or no rattles. Checked out the logbook details and it appears to be a local car to me(Northampton) the former owner lives in Wellingborough. I will try and contact him to see if he can fill in the missing pieces, just wanna know whats not and whats been done so I have a good starting point, major service will be priority anyway though. Have to say it looks the dogs danglers from any position. Looking forward to using it now. My sons gotta ZR 105 in the same colour(now I,ve let on I,m an old fart!) so will be good father/son combo!

Wow! What a stunner! Done well there. My 52 plate is on similar mileage and Ive had no problems touch wood. Regarding the spoiler, I seem to be the only person who thinks they look better without. Looks too much like an evo wannabe with the extreme spoiler, maybe the 180 can just about pull it off but not on a diesel lol.

Wouldnt be the same without one. :w00t::w00t::w00t:

Sorry but have to agree with ZSPhil! I think he,s right, the smaller bootlid edge spoiler gives the car the subtle look! Tried to contact MG-Rover specialist CLIFTON-LANE LTD in Northampton today, they are believed to have worked on my car in the past, oh dear! no longer exist!, but have sent a letter to previous owner in the hope that he,ll give me the info I,m looking for. Have to go away to work now for 8 days so will catch up later( MG equiped!)

I have a Mk2 180 and I don't like the Extreme spoiler, I have the lip spoiler and the low level R45 spoiler.

Hey mate, I've used Clifton Lane in the past. I think they still exist, but under a different name as he mentioned it the last time I was there.. But I can't for the life of me remember what they were changing to!!

i went with option 1 as on the MKI they dont suit the little lip jobber ;)

The mk2 looks better with both as it has that huge slab of boot sitting there doing nothing whereas the mk 1 has a hint of a lip and a number plate.

I voted option 1 as that is what I have on my superior mk1.

I have both on mine but actually prefer just the Extreme spoiler;

Mk2 with the extreme spoiler so long as it has the rest of the 180 kit. Mk 1 with the smaller one - looks meaner.

Lip spoiler and low level R45 for me.

Off topic, Pete, I see both our cars share a BX54 plate, was yours previously registered to MGR Longbridge by any chance.

Yep, think all the BX ones are MG Demo's, lot of the SV's are BX.

My one had its first service by MGR, thats why I bet you have a lot of goodies on yours as well.

As much as I do like the extreme spoiler, the low level spoiler takes it for me. Purposeful without being too in-your-face;

I agree but imo the low spoiler fits better on mk1 because of no sharp edges on the bumpers and wheel arches. Mk2 goes with the extreme spoiler for the same reason though...

Clifton and Lane went their separate ways but Martin Clifton has started up a new place not far from the old garage. It's called Clifton Garage! Take a peek at his website at www.clifton-northampton.co.uk for details. Same excellent service and competitive prices. Southmids Sportsters are haing a Tuning Day there on 8th October for any MEM3 MGRs. Tuning is being done by Mark of ZandF-Tuning. Still a couple of spaces left and visitors are welcome too.
