If I were to get an engine from say down South (500ish miles), how would be best to have it transported to me and at what cost should I expect?

I know people who have used Paisley freight and they seem reasonable,
never used them myself though Link-https://www.paisleyfreight.com/pallets.php

Buy a van - transport it - sell the van for £100 profit to cover the diesel .....
KV6 engine? Will it fit in the back of a ZS? :D
Sounds like an excuse for a Northerner to come down south for a couple of days... make a weekend of it and meet up with a load of us southerners ;) :beer2::beer2:
I was told it would fit in the front not the back of a saloon due to the doors not opening wide enough? Freight is probably the way to go I guess for ease?

I can ask my mate who paid for the engine to come from Dreadnought to my house, probably around £50, pallet load, can find out Monday for you.
Thats pretty much the same distance....£50 you say....I'd take that!

Go with that Blair, my one cost £95+VAT from Dreadnought to here on the south coast. Thought it was cheaper but then again I didn't pay for it ;)
Just need Goldies source then!
Ok, the time has come! Engine is ready to be delivered!
Info I need is weight of v6 and gearbox?
Goldie, where did you get your quote?
Also, if anyone can find a cheaper quote, let me know. Weight around 200kg max. Standard palette size from Portsmouth to Cumbernauld.

Pallets are around the 20kg mark, well the phyto ones at work are, plus the engine weight.

PG1 gearbox is 38Kg, v6 is about 140kg.
National pallets is a good shout Marcus and even mention engine and gearbox are fine if drained of fluids.

Depending on the date I might be able to help with transport. I need to go shift EX259 in the next week or two anyway so might be able to tie the two trips together
