Slightly ot.

But the ZS suspension and brake wise will be fine at 240bhp.

Nice - it all helps when supporting mods can be kept at a minimum

How does the standard ZS chassis and suspension cope with that sort of added lump? I expect new dampers etc will be needed, but the brakes should get away with just uprated discs and pads do you think?

Cant imagine that the weight of the throttle bodies is much at all, nothing that will be noticable throught the suspension.

Its the sound of it that will be amazing will sound like Steve has an angry lion caged up under the bonnet!!

I was thinking about extra power for speed round corners etc, not weight, and also duck and dive under acceleration possibly.

No the std suspension was used on the supercharged cars both out the factory for the australian market and on some of the modded zs' they were up in the 240+ bhp

Yeah you could get a nasp zs to 240-250 imo, gtm's kv6 will be in the ball park when its done but you will need to spend the big bucks to achieve it. Not sure what steves spec is but it seems hes spent some serious wonga so he must be hoping for some serious results to match the outlay.

No doubting a zs can be made to handle 240-250 bhp quite easily, mine did ok, but what an otherwise standard zs would be like with that power is another thing. I guess the standard cars inherent weak points will just be amplified but it shouldn't be a problem as you just drive to the new limits.
Imagine how i went on on my first drive home from reyland with double the torque and another 130 bhp midrange, now that was interesting !!
Power delivery is one of the major points and in that respect it should be good because peak torque wont alter much and delivery should be smooth and linear, there will be no sudden lump of power to upset anything, infact low down revs i imagine it will be no different to standard as low end torque with no vis will be down a bit i should think.
Will be an interesting ride no doubt but as always i guess it all comes down to money, no doubt steve would love an lsd, big brakes etc all of which would add to his cars performance, but you just do one step at a time as and when dont you, like i did for 5 + years.lol.

He's also been mega busy, as said with this car, it'll be done when its done. And I know George would call as and when with any news :)

So was the car not 'booked in' for its remap then? The car's just been dropped off and is being mapped whenever they get round to fitting it in??

Would have thought given the uniqueness of the car and the work that will have to be done to map it that it would have had a proper booking slot with full attention on the car, not done as a side project whenever time allows....

Steve - understand you've been ill mate but you've been without your MG for 18 months, and the car was taken to be mapped 3 weeks ago but you've not called one single time to ask whether it's been done??

My car has been at a tuning specialist for 2 weeks now having blueprinted turbo internals done, intercooler fitting and remapping and the tuner calls me every 3 days to give me a progress update, even if it's only to say they received delivery of a part.

I don't think there's any more than a handful of tuners who work in this way in this country.

Unfortunately I think these days it's the vehicle owners passiveness that allows the tuner/s to take the **** out of customers more and more.

If he'd have chased since day one and applied the pressure with a few phone calls etc I bet it'd have been finished 6 months ago

I won't lie - I'm just **** stirring like Dave ZS-X coz I'm waiting for dinner and I'm bored.

It takes 1 single day, 2 at most to do even the most complex of remaps with hundreds of parameters to adjust.

My bet is the figures have already been produced and now they're trying to figure out how to tell Steve his ?XXXXX only produced Corsa VXR power.

Who said anything about a remap? I dont recall anything about that.

The mapper at Thor is abroad.

As for me, I do not eat sleep and drink MGs anymore. I have taken a different career move and Steves car will be sorted once its been back to Thor.

As previously stated, I wont be giving any information about the car out as i cant be doing with the politics about it anymore.

Maybe Ben if you want to pay the actual whole labour bill i will work on it every minute you pay me.

The fact is that Steves personal financial affairs are his own business. I do not see Steve posting up anything negatively about anything to do with me or his car.

People are to quick to judge, which is why arguments take place.

Its Steves car and his business and he is the only person i will take flack off regarding anything to do with his car.

Er, your customer did....

as above we are almost done :):) well it dones run now but as you can tell it runs like a dog due to the mapping not done yet

yes its up at thor motorsport at the mo having the mapping done

Then you did....

I will be going up to Scotland to Dreadnought to carry out some mapping on both Steves throttle bodied car and Maxx Ross`s touring car .

Since it is nice and quiet up in the hills, and Mr Luti will be on hand to drive, it will enable me to "live" map the car and also give it some miles to check for any underlying issues.

The mapper at Thor is abroad.

Is this project giving you Alzheimer's matey?

on a side note to all the stirrers, if you dont like why do you keep posting, there are a lot of people who just want to read this thread, and thanks to you, yet again its getting ruined, this forum is not for stirrers, we just like the cars, not politics,
shall leave it to steve to let one of admin know when he wants to make it public, if he does.
