Dont forget to put in the new oil, I was reading on another forum that the zt engine was having problems after a service, they recommended putting new oil in the oil filter so that you dont start up with no oil in the system.
Dont want to tell your dad how to suck eggs, but it may help, I've never done this but it makes sense, the other thing is to pull the plug leads off and spin the engine up till you get some oil pressure.
Still if your dads into engines he will know a lot more than me!!!
All the best and glad your almost there.

New oil in the filter is good practise I think.
I certainly would not put a filter on without filling it first.
http://www.autoenginelube.com/ any thoughts?

I must admit I've never filled the filter before fitting it, but thinking about it, it makes sense.
Also spinning the engine, but not letting it fire up.
I've always put in an additive into the oil and I have always thought that this gives a bit of protection as it is suppose to stick to the wearing surface if the oil drains away.
