Clutches ... What's the difference ?

So ... Looking for a kit and there appears to be 3 available from a site pointed out by Shroonie....

1. Standard. £147
2. Fast road. £203
3. Cerametallic paddle. £306

So ... What's the difference ?

who make the fast road and ceramic plate one?

chances are thats a blag. unless its somebody like helix

well, back in the day when the mg rover clutch kit was on ebay for 50 quid bin, i bought one as a spare.

my std clutch lasted abour 40k with loads of pod runs and a few track days, then at pod i blew the release bearing.

but i had given it so much abuse i was confident it handled the power well.

so i put the std kit i had in it and it was fine, remember my car was around 265bhp, and a bit more torque than std, and i treated it with no respect i rated it highly and still do.

if that website is true and they have uprated units, then just think about if you need one or not.

So what difference is there in the fast rd one then ? Been reading a few links via google and it appears that they may release better, reducing power loss through the transmission.

I bow to greater knowledge and simply ask, where I've just spent £160 getting 5 and a bit bhp through an induction kit, would it translate to any more power, if the uprated clutch reduced friction for the extra £60, as well as being a bit stronger ?

i think the thing that will mean somthing here is who manufactures the clutch.

i looked into decent clutches for the 180 a while ago as i was looking for 320plus bhp, and helix's version was around 450 quid.

so im intrested to see who manufactures the clutches they talk about being fast road.

it might not be as it makes out on the tin lol. and be a little fast and furious style.

I went for a standard one in mine, I know they are rated to take way more than the 180 puts out
