Look inside the door mirrors MK1 are metal, MK2 plastic, door casings and dash material was a lot cheaper than on the MK1.

Remember, a lot of Project Drive was done before the Mk1 / Mk2 transition - so there's late Mk1s also with empty-sounding doors and a general lack of sound deadening.

First thing I usually do with any ZS is whip everything that's easy to remove off, and cover it in flashing tape or Dynamat.

The above is true, it's probably only the very early mk1s that suffered least from project drive

The one I sold Phil was full of everything.
Had collapsing grab handles on the roof!
Was probably a nightmare for him removing all the soundproofing.
