It was the bodywork package that was designed by Peter Stevens, McLaren F1 designer ! The suspension system however was totaly in-house. You may be surprised to learn that most of it is straight from the Rover 400/45. The upper wishbones were just turned upside down to provide a sharper control ! Beyond that the dampers and springs were unique to the ZS.
Still doesn't redeem the boring Rover 400/45 though !

I had a 416 and as cars go it was nothing spectacular but was anything but boring ,try holding onto it round a bend in the rain and stop yourself from landing in a hedge due to its unbeleivable understeer . Oh happy days and if i may add my tuppence to this thread boring = Prius or any other fecking hybrids, have you seen the civic one it just oozes boring ,hideous

I would love a Maestro Turbo! I had a 1.3 city X for a company car many moons ago, I broke it in less than a week

Boring cars, not 'bash the 400'.
